Submitted by on 22 February, 2019 – 4:32 am

3Com Corporation (Nasdaq: COMS) today officially announced that H3C Miercom ® S12508 data center switch and its center of H3C ® S5820X top-of-rack switch industry first product data centers to receive “green certification Miercom ™” designation . The test confirmed that Miercom H3C switches are designed to provide enterprise customers with superior performance, scale and endurance while using 50 percent less power than competing solutions, helping to dramatically reduce the cost of the data center operations.“In late 2010, over 50 percent of large data centers reached maximum levels of energy consumption, leaving consumers in a major energy crisis that these organizations may not scale of operations data to support their needs business, “says Andreas Antonopoulos, senior vice president of research-advisory firm Nemertes Research. “This means that energy efficiency and accurate data on consumption of energy is absolutely vital for the future. To avoid this crisis, organizations need to not only measure their own data on energy consumption, but also, they need to start requiring vendors to disclose all data-efficient products in order to serve as a key criterion for customers who are choosing the tools that give sustainable data centers next generation. “Miercom Certification detail the various factors that 3Com H3C provides solutions with a clear advantage over other products, including: a modern design that leverages the full feature / low power ASIC technology, I highly efficient E / S modular components and power supplies and a set of power saving features that can be set through management. The report also highlights resistant H3C Intelligent Framework ® (IRF) and other technology from 3Com’s “green” innovation that further reduces energy consumption, helping customers simplify network architectures and collapse flat, two network-level designs that require fewer discrete platforms and network layers, and further reducing power and cooling requirements.“I would like to congratulate 3Com to be the first networking company to receive recognition for its design changes from green data center,” said Rob Smithers, CEO Miercom. “We are proud to honor H3C solutions such as S12508 and S5820X and that are leaders in the industry to bring more environmental awareness in the data center, helping companies improve the efficiency of their data center operations in 2010 and beyond. The switches are shown in testing to provide maximum performance while consuming less than half the power 10GE modules compared to the published specifications for the modules of competing suppliers. ““Reducing energy consumption and maximize the capacity are the main concerns of CIOs of companies. This is especially true in the data center where energy costs are rising rapidly and where power limitations can inhibit the scale IT capacity to support business operations, “said Saar Gillai, 3Com senior vice president of global products and solutions. “This certification validates our commitment to providing solutions for high performance networks that are also highly energy efficient, offering customers the flexibility to design and build a new generation of highly scalable and sustainable data centers”
