BCS Launches New Green IT Certification Program
After a successful test run three months in the UK with learning supplier of quality control services, BCS’s Foundation Certificate in Green is gaining popularity among IT professionals worldwide, the organization says.
BCS has announced it has signed an agreement with iSQI to offer a number of conditions, including Green IT BCS in German, English and Spanish.
In addition, BCS has announced plans to test its latest qualification for IT professionals, the Code of Conduct for data center operators Certified Professional.
The rating is striving to establish an international standard for IT professionals in understanding energy efficiency, whatever the discipline practice within the industry.
It will support the implementation and application of the Code of Conduct for data center operators with a focus on energy efficiency.
The qualification hopes to join the ranks of other energy efficiency standards such as LEED in North America, the UK BREEAMM, Green Star in Australia, and HQE in France.
“The Foundation and Professional Certificates along with the expertise of our Data Center Group in this area, are examples of how the BCS is to address key issues faced by users, industry and society,” says David Clarke, CEO of BCS . “International interest in these titles is an indication that this is truly a global issue and, furthermore, is praise for everyone involved in this area of our work.”
The Foundation is a three-day course that teaches candidates about the importance of IT to pursue the goal of a green organization, how to identify their own green IT requirements and how to address them.
Provides an understanding of the rules, laws and policies, representing carbon emissions and how to create a green IT strategy and business benefits coverage, end to end costs, emissions and energy efficiency, procurement, planning lifecycle and disposal and management of stakeholder relationships and behaviors.
