Colocation Firm Latisys Names Data Center Operations Manager

Placement and managed hosting provider Latisys (www.latisys.com) announced Thursday it has named Robert Martin and data center operations manager in Orange County.

The announcement comes a day after Latisys revealed it is building its second data center in Irvine, California.

As data center operations manager, Martin will be responsible for daily operations for the company’s current SAS 70 Type II data center meets in Irvine, California.

Also be responsible for the operations of the new 93,000 square foot data center to Level 3 is expected to be ready for customer installations in the second quarter of 2011.

“Robert is a highly respected data center professionals with proven track mission critical operations management of IT infrastructure on behalf of industry leading companies and government agencies,” said Corey Needles, vice president of center operations Latisys data. “Robert joins a strong team increasing datacenter professionals Latisys laser market in Orange County focused on providing its customers the highest level of service, support and uptime.”

Latisys Martin takes more than a decade of experience in data center operations.

Most recently he served as operations manager for the Savvis data center in Irvine, where he was responsible for managing IT infrastructure for large-scale enterprises Orange County and service providers.
