Equinix to build $100M Data Center in Washington DC
Scheduled to open in summer 2010, new IBX data center cabinets have the capacity to 1750, according to a report from the Washington Business Journal, this-152,000 square feet will Equinix Ashburn, Virginia campus data center, which currently operates five data centers, one of the richest of the points of interconnection of IP networks in the U.S.. The Ashburn facility is part of Equinix’s expansion program for 15 of the 18 markets where it currently operates. In late 2009, it has invested more than $ 1 billion in the expansion since early 2007. Less than three weeks, Equinix opened its fourth International Business Exchange data center in the Los Angeles area, which was also part of the expansion.
