Go Daddy $100K Donation, Bolsters Humane Society
The Scottsdale-based domain name registrar and web hosting provider also doubled its own donation with a $100,000 check delivered by Go Daddy Boss and Founder Bob Parsons’ dogs Max and Chief. This is the fourth sequential year Go Daddy delivered gigantic for Arizona animals and in these coarse commercial times, when donations are harder to secure, Go Daddy was pleased to help make a contribution as the title sponsor. Total cash raised in the once a year telethon yesterday was more than $328,000.
Go Daddy also helped on the technical side behind the curtain, and on camera many Go Daddy staff answered phone calls in the live broadcast. The move that really lifted the show though was the organization’s check delivery technique, performed in GoDaddy-esque style no, not by a Go Daddy Girl, but by the ‘Go Daddy’ dogs. Max and Chief are Parsons’ dogs and became regulars for the telethon’s giant finish.
Bob Parsons, Founder and Boss man of GoDaddy mentioned ”Max and Chief learn a new trick for each telethon,” referring to how Chief pulled Max in a Go Daddy chariot to supply the $100,000 check to finish the live telethon. Mr Parsons added, ”Max and Chief even went ‘green’ this year employing a chariot rather than the Go Daddy motorized car.
Whether delivered by Border Terriers or more standard techniques, Go Daddy continues to make a contribution in the Valley of the Sun with its charitable donations.
As many firms are scaling back philanthropic donations thanks to the economy, Go Daddy is stepping up its charity efforts. Guy Collison, executive director of the Arizona Kind-hearted Society remarked, ”It’s superb to see that each year Go Daddy has been concerned with the telethon they not only meet but surpass our expectations. To round it off they doubled their donation this year.
Thousands of sick, wounded and homeless animals across the state will have their lives saved or improved with the cash raised thru the telethon.
the once a year charity event not only raises desirable money for these animals, but also provides cheap neuter and spay services and instructional programs, including the way to better care for pets, fight animal savagery and adopt a pet. Go Daddy’s philanthropic works support a wide selection of charitable and community associations dedicated to such causes as domestic violence, kid abuse, disabled youngsters, teen homelessness, Parkinson’s research, breast cancer and more. Go Daddy donated $1.7MM to charitable causes last year and is on pace to destroy its own record for 2009.
