Hitachi Data Systems Sets New Standard in Midrange

Submitted by on 1 October, 2020 – 4:32 am
Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd. (NYSE: HIT) and the only provider Oriented Storage Solutions Services, today announced the general availability of its new Hitachi Network Attached Storage (NAS) platform, powered by BlueArc ®, with two new solutions that push the envelope on performance, scalability, consolidation and management for midrange storage. Hitachi’s new NAS 3080 and 3090 offer the most intelligent native file composed of capacity levels currently midrange and include a variety of benefits specifically designed to enhance productivity and simplify storage management. With the new Hitachi NAS Platform, customers can achieve up to 30 percent of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) savings in competitive offerings available today.

“We offer organizations more fully integrated, unified storage solution for midrange to help them manage their data and use it to manage your organization. Today, we are furthering our commitment to our customers by expanding our portfolio of NAS” said Miki Sandorfi, chief strategist, file and content services, Hitachi Data Systems. “Contrary to other storage vendors that provide improvised solutions for managing disparate silos combine Hitachi Data Systems storage management software, content archiving and data discovery solutions on one integrated platform to reduce complexity and reduce storage CAPEX and OPEX.

Organizations are facing an exponential growth of unstructured data, placing an increasing demand for their limited IT budgets. To do this, organizations often consolidate file servers with NAS solutions that lack the scalability and performance and cause the proliferation of NAS. Hitachi’s new NAS platform leads the industry with up to 2 petabytes of capacity and 100K IOPS per node, which enables the consolidation more solid midrange companies. Many organizations also intend to move the data less access to the lowest storage costs, but have the challenge without an integrated management tool to automate the process. Hitachi’s new NAS platform provides intelligent native capabilities and levels are tightly integrated with Hitachi Data Discovery Suite to enable customers to automatically move data between fiber channel, SAS, SATA and levels of file based on predefined policies, find the content through storage silos and use search results to enable data movement.

Combined with improved performance, scalability and management capabilities, Hitachi NAS Platform provides customers a flexible foundation for delivering more benefits at a lower operating cost. Moreover, this solution is ideal for midrange customers in mixed storage environments, such as joint management between the Hitachi Hitachi NAS and SAN technologies can be achieved with a single interface and without competitor solutions require additional layer of management.

The Hitachi NAS 3080 and 3090 offer a high quality performance and scalability at a midrange price for pay-as-you-grow “flexibility and simplified management of storage resources. With this mid-range solution, customers can now leverage a rich set of features and functionality without the traditional complexity. Specifically, it includes more integrated industry-based file system fragmentation, enabling customers to automatically migrate between the high cost and low storage means to simplify management cost and performance balance with storage utilization.

Hitachi NAS Platform is optimized with storage systems from Hitachi and the Hitachi Storage Command Suite, giving customers a single unified management console NAS and SAN environments. Similarly, Hitachi NAS is completely integrated with business applications environments such as Microsoft ® Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint and Oracle, as they use in VMware environments vSphere. Application administrators can use for your primary Hitachi NAS (iSCSI) and secondary backup, restore, archive and disaster recovery storage.

The entry of Hitachi NAS 3080 model is up to 1 petabyte of capacity. The Hitachi NAS 3090 reaches 2 terabytes and supports 256 petabytes of file system, much higher than the 16 terabytes of file system size offered by most other NAS offerings available today.

The new Hitachi NAS Platform is designed specifically for organizations based on data in a variety of markets and is particularly suitable for sanitary applications. With only the Hitachi platform, integrated for all content types, health care providers can easily cope with the large amount of content that handle every day – from the file, to block content – all from a single panel administration. The new Hitachi NAS Platform accelerates access to all types of data such as patient records and billing information, consolidating the IT environment and simplifies the electronic management of patient records as they move through their life cycles.
