Horizon Data Center Solutions Opens Second Dallas Data Center
After its successful first year results announced last month, Horizon has entered its second year of strong with the addition of the two main data centers in Dallas, according to Horizon’s announcement Thursday. The first data center in Dallas, at 25,000 square feet, the capacity reached about two months – well above initial forecasts. Before officially opened, several thousand square feet is under contract placement for permanent installation of the company in the second free.
“Our two plants in Dallas is impressive, but what our customers tell us they appreciate most is our flexibility and personalized approach for delivering everything from placement of managed services and hosting,” Horizon CEO Lance A. Smith said in a statement. “Our data center customers are driving their own growth, leveraging our experience to reduce its internal technology costs and increase both its reliability and technical capabilities.”
According to Horizon, several thousand square feet of collocation space has been rented on the premises of two of Dallas, and the first client to move in is ATI (www.aticareertraining.edu), which provides vocational training to thousands of students each year through the schools in Texas, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona and Oklahoma.
ATI is one of the first customers to go online in Dallas two, but the surrounding space is expected to fill quickly. Horizon expected to fill 25,000 square feet in the center with client servers within the next six months, and this is the exploration of additional data center locations in northern California, northern Virginia, and Houston for future expansion .
Horizon said its growth was driven by demand for outsourced IT services and placement, demand the government sector, and the flexible approach of the company to serve customers and purchase managed services provider Mareechi (www.mareechi.com).
