Horizon Solutions Launches FlexSafe Cloud

Data centers and IT “flexsourcing” supplier of Horizon Data Center Solutions (www.horizondcs.com) has launched its cloud computing solution, FlexSafe Cloud, a private cloud computing solution designed to meet the needs of organizations wishing flexibility, scalability and cost savings of virtualization, but require the security of a private computer platform.

According to Horizon’s announcement Thursday FlexSafe Cloud is part of its strategy to fill a gap in the market, providing flexibility and full service IT outsourcing options for customers of the company as well as small and medium enterprises.

Designed to meet the needs of federal customers, Horizon’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer Chuck Smith said Horizon has adopted the National Institute of Standards and Technology working definition of cloud computing, that basically describes an on-demand self services with ubiquitous network access and the ability to rapidly scale resources, and billing in a measured usage basis.

“We believe that great public cloud providers like Amazon and Google have done an excellent job of supporting evidence and global development, so there is no need for further public cloud,” Smith said in a statement. “For the government and enterprise customers, the clouds are private where we can add significant value and also going to offer cloud solutions to community related entities.”

In the past, Horizon pioneered the concept of cloud computing with its DCFlexSpace placement model and has continued to expand services to meet customer demand with FlexSafe.

He says the cloud horizon FlexSafe immediate benefits for businesses as Software as a service enterprise e-commerce applications that experience fluctuating transaction volumes and financial companies, government agencies and other entities that want the most efficiency and cost savings of virtualization without sacrificing security.

Horizon CEO, Lance A. Smith adds: “Our customers appreciate our present highly secure and reliable data center infrastructure and have asked us to offer this service. We are pleased to expand our relationships with them, while at the same time offering an option that represents our then charge to fill the void in the IT outsourcing market between the very large companies, global outsourcing of traditional IT and hosting companies. With the option FlexSafe Cloud, the latest advance in our accelerated growth strategy, Horizon continues being a leader in the data center market.

The highly scalable cloud FlexSafe is based on the Horizon industry infrastructure, which bears on the service platform database level III centers, and is based on the latest technology from providers AboveNet, Cisco, F5 Networks and HP. FlexSafe cloud service is virtualized using VMware, providing high availability and performance of security across two data centers in Dallas area, connected by a private fiber ring, providing fast, reliable data backup and replication solutions .
