Hosted Solutions’ New Managed Offerings

In a move to shed its former “room only” business model, Hosted Solutions ( significantly expanded its range of application hosting and management solutions this week to include support for a wide range of applications business.

Hosted Solutions customers will now be able to host business applications such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, WebSphere, WebLogic and JBoss.

Together with its management services and hosting capabilities, Hosted Solutions now offers a range of IT services and level and medium level and customers.

The latter is important for Hosted Solutions Intiative that pushes the company into a competitive field, consisting of hosting providers that offer more than traditional care.

Rich Lee, founder and CEO of Hosted Solutions, acknowledges that the move was inevitable in an increasingly competitive market.

“This continues our evolution as a complex hosting provider company,” says Lee. “We’re finding that companies want more than just accommodation for its managed hosting provider. They are seeking a variety of different business solutions that can begin to outsource.

In fact it was the nature of Hosted Solutions existing customer base that helped influence the decision of the company to introduce a wider range of services.

According to Lee, more than 80 percent of its current production of websites hosting customers are often involved in large volumes of transactions and require sophisiticated infrastructure.

This marks a recent trend of hosting providers changing hosting solutions to support the growing demand, as a new type of software as a service solution emerge, along with more sophisticated customers, “says research director at Tier1 hosting and cloud computing Antonio Piraino.

Suppliers that are able to offer support services to these core applications are finding that their clients have a higher level of confidence in them, providing a great opportunity for service providers.


“Many of our customers as they see us as their trusted provider, are increasingly outlaying responsibilities to their managed hosting partner,” says Lee. “As we continue to develop new security products and storage cloud and cloud computing, we’re finding that many of our clients ask us to do more and move upstream.”

Along with host applications, the company is also offering customers additional access to the application of environmental planning, management and monitoring services.

Through the Hi-Touch managed services online, Hosted Solutions’ team of application engineers will provide the experience of end to end support for all aspects of client application environments.

This includes the recommendations of the architecture, evaluation of incidents and in-depth knowledge and problem solving in a wide range of J2EE technologies.

In addition, Hosted Solutions offers a wide range of managed services, covering information security, data protection and database administration.

With recent high profile customer wins and data solutions provider Motricity and Bell telecommunications provider, Hosted Solutions continues to maintain a solid pace in becoming a leading provider of hosted solutions.

“It’s an exciting time for the launch of the cloud and application hosting,” says Lee. “We’re getting a lot of traction from our customers and growing rapidly. Many of the units are doing very well in this environment.”
