Layered Technologies, Ranks on 2009 Inc. 5000

Supplier of managed dedicated hosting, and on-demand virtualization / cloud computing and web services, Layered Technologies, Inc, has ranked on Inc mag’s 3rd yearly Inc 5000, at the No 622 position. The list represents the most elaborate glance at the most critical segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs.

Electronics maker Vizio, Net giant GoDaddy, rental auto service Zipcar, and drink maker Truthful Tea are among the outstanding brands featured on this year’s list. Jim Melloan, project chief of the Inc 5000 remarked, ”Savvy trend spotters and people who invest in personal firms know the Inc 5000 is the best place to discover about young firms that are achieving success through a wide selection of remarkable business models, as well as older personal firms that are still growing at a magnificent rate. Layered Tech, a world provider of managed dedicated hosting, on-demand virtualization / cloud computing and Web services, ranked in the top 12 % of Inc.’s list due to its three-year rate of growth of 441 p.c. The Plano, Texas-based company invests heavily in R and D to add new technologies and services to remain a top 10 hosting provider worldwide.

Layered Tech developed from an emergent dedicated hosting company to a recognized Web hosting provider whose scalable infrastructure powers millions of sites and a big range of Internet-enabled applications. Regardless of the continuing recession, total income among the firms on the list really increased to $214 bn., up $29 bln from last year, with a median three-year rate of growth of 126 p.c. This year’s list also offers a preview of which industries are stood for expansion in coming years. With an average rate of growth of 667 p.c, Insurance ranked as the top industry overall. Government Services was the top industry gainer with 252 corporations on this year’s list, up from 135 last year. Health is the top industry by both total cash ( $22.7 bn. ) and total job ( 156,223 roles ). Once more, California tops the Inc 5000 with the most firms of any state with 612. The Golden State is followed by Texas ( 393 ), Big Apple ( 316 ), Florida ( 263 ), and Virginia ( 261 ). All fifty states, and Washington, D.C, and Puerto Rico, are represented on this year’s list.

Long Island boasts 371 Inc 5000 firms, making it the top metropolitan area, followed by Washington, D.C

Braced by this year’s No 1 company, Northerly Capital Insurance, Insurance appeared as the top industry, with a mean rate of growth of 667 p.c. In total, the corporations on the Inc 5000 have made more than 1 million roles. Health is the top employer with 156,223 roles, followed by Business Products and Services ( 122,911 ), IT Services ( 89,632 ), Food and Drink ( 86,572 ), and Construction ( 65,494 ). IT Services had the most firms on this year’s list with 658, followed by Business Products and Services ( 502 ), Advertising and Selling ( 398 ), Construction ( 354 ), and Producing ( 342 ). Topping this year’s list is Northerly Capital Insurance, a Miami-based firm that helps to revolutionize Florida’s hurting insurance industry. The company generated $95 million in income in 2008 and a formidable three-year rate of growth of 19,812 p.c. The top woman-owned company is P3S ( No 17 overall ), a San Antonio – based firm that provides IT network security and physical security services, often to the Defense Office . P3S, owned by Mary Ellen Trevino, recorded money of $13.5 million in 2008 and a three-year rate of growth of 5,898 p.c.

The top minority-owned company is Harley Stanfield ( No three overall ), a Washington, D.C. – based property investment firm that buys existing properties, makes them energy efficient, and then resells them as investment properties. Harley Stanfield, set up by Cedric Franklin, posted money of $38.4 million in 2008 and a three-year rate of growth of 13,350 p.c. The Inc 5000 posted a total money of $214 bill in 2008, up just about 16 p.c from the year before. The top 5 industries by total money include Health ( $22.7 bill ), Business Products and Services ( $19.6 bill ), Construction ( $18.8 bn. ), Energy ( $14.7 bn. ), and IT Services ( $13.2 billion ).

The Inc 5000 is ranked according to p.c. cash expansion from 2005 thru 2008. To qualify, firms must’ve been set up and generating income by the 1st week of 2005, and so able to show 4 full calendar years of sales.

In addition, they need to be U.S.-based, secretly held, for money and independent — not subsidiaries or divisions of other firms — as of December 31, 2008.

Income in 2005 must’ve been at least $200,000, and income in 2008 must’ve been at least $2 million. The top 10 p.c of corporations on the list comprise the Inc 5 hundred, now in its 28th year.
