LimeWire Issued Injunction on File-Sharing Software
From now on, it seems that the end of LimeWire is about quickly.
Today, the U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood issued an injunction against the company operating the giant file-sharing software, ordering them to turn off “the search, downloading, uploading, file sharing … and / or all the functionality” of the software.
Wood also has previously granted summary trial for the music industry in May, when it filed suit against LimeWire and its parent company in case of copyright infringement, participation in unfair competition, and inducing a breach of copyright.
According to CNET, recently LimeWire spokesman issued a statement saying: “While this is not our ideal way, hope to work with the music industry in moving forward. We hope that includes the necessary changes and work with the entire music industry in the future. ”
LimeWire also announced that from now will still exist but no longer function as a file-sharing service. However, no plans were discussed for the future.
