Microsoft Reveals Container-Powered Cloud Vision
Microsoft said Thursday that its power container cloud services vision, according to a report from Data Center Knowledge.
In a speech at the University of Washington, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer revealed that “when it comes to the cloud, we are all in.”
The message is broadcast on Friday in an email to all Microsoft employees and a major advertising campaign that Microsoft is launching.
In his presentation, Ballmer emphasized particularly the end-user experience cloud computing services.
He also brought with it an example of the latest generation container company data centers GM Kevin Timmons described Thursday at a conference in New York.
The container is one of the prototypes latest in a series of designs for the packaging of Microsoft, entitled IT-PAC, which means pre-assembled component.
The company could refine the design as it continues the search for new locations for your next data center.
“It includes the equivalent of about 10,000 servers,” Ballmer said. “It’s a cool concept, the next generation. We used to have to stick the fire hoses on these things to cool. (With this latest technology) to the side, you can put a garden hose to one of these things cool. ”
In a question and answer session with students, Ballmer hinted that Microsoft may eventually offer a container equipped with Azure technology as a product for installation on site.
