Mirror Image Offers Multi-Protocol Video Streaming with iPhone Support

Content Delivery Network solutions provider Mirror Image Internet (www.mirror-image.com) has added video on demand and live media streaming H.264 for the Apple iPhone, making the mirror image CDN only way to combine the capabilities of multi-protocol transmission of such a single source of media.

According to its announcement Wednesday, Mirror Image allows content owners H.264 video stream directly to any Apple iPhone or iPod touch with OS 3.0, without complex or custom configuration. Sales of Mirror Image Vice President James Hart said the Mirror Image solution provides “point, listen and give” the mobile video delivery to any device.

“Content owners can not afford to back burner of its entry into the mobile space, content delivery to a variety of devices including the iPhone is now an essential tool for truly successful multi-platform campaigns,” said Hart in a statement. “With multiple transmission protocols, companies can leverage their existing investment in web content delivery and put up for iPhone video with a single file, without special treatment, expensive custom built or multiple file storage.

The multi-mirror image transmission protocol service works with a wide range of standard H.264 encoders and content file so that users do not need to use specialized encoders or specially pre-formatted content for iPhone consumption.

Mirror Image uses Wowza Media Server 2 Advanced (www.wowzamedia.com / advanced / index.html) to process and transmit content via HTTP to the iPhone, as well as other protocols for mobile devices and desktop clients such as Flash, allowing companies to streamline and simplify your encoding workflow and eliminate the burden of storing and managing files on multiple client specific formats.

Transmission functions of the mirror image is currently used by television Internet truefire TV (www.truefire.com), comprising 12 stations musician-centric, to deliver multiple video streams protocol. Since 1991, truefire and faculty of more than 450 artists and educators have produced thousands of interactive music lessons blues, rock, jazz, country and popular music.
