Parallels Announces Support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010

Automation and virtualization leader, Parallels, today announced support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 in Parallels Automation product, which will be available shortly after the official release of Microsoft expects the second half of 2009. Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 beta was released in April 2009 and is the first server to a new generation of Microsoft server technology, designed from scratch to work on-premise and as an online service.

Exchange Server 2010 introduces many new features to help achieve new levels of reliability and performance, secure communications, and meet customer demands for increased mobility of business. Hosted Microsoft Exchange provides small and medium enterprises (SMEs) a cost-effective alternative to managing in-house e-mail server. In the Hosted Exchange model, the service provider manages all the technology and support to SMEs.

Based on the native capabilities introduced in Exchange Server 2007, the new high availability architecture of Exchange 2010 in a simplified form, a unified framework for high availability and disaster recovery. Uptime The result is greater for end users, increased freedom for administrators, and lower capital and operating costs for the organization. Exchange Server 2010 also enables organizations to run Exchange Server in a wide range of storage options. The latest version of Exchange Server requires less storage space and performance is more tolerant of failures in storage and helps provide greater SME mailboxes at a lower cost without sacrificing system availability.

Parallels Automation allows the delivery of SaaS applications, including Microsoft Exchange, Windows SharePoint Services, Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS), etc. in a hosted environment. In the SaaS model, end-user customers subscribe to the application instead of buying them, usually on a monthly basis. In this “pay-as-you go approach, SMEs have an easy to use and low cost service.
