Radware Upgrades DefensePro Security Solution to Protect Against High-Volume Cybercriminal Activity

Submitted by on 23 October, 2020 – 4:32 pm
Radware (NASDAQ: RDWR), the leading provider of integrated application delivery solutions for business-smart networking, today announced the launch of DefensePro ® 5.0, an enhanced version of its award-winning intrusion prevention system (IPS) designed to protect the application infrastructure against cyber attacks and zero minutes and emerging threats network vulnerability. Taking advantage of possessing a “booster” DefensePro 5.0 precision able to detect and neutralize security breaches without the risk of blocking legitimate users or to pass through the security engine during the attack mitigation.

Rising crime has left the world trade and government websites are exposed to many high packet per second (PPS), distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack – which can cause service disruption or a complete closed network. Although many organizations have implemented standards IPS devices, networks remain “open” to the attacks, since traditional IPS solutions are designed for normal traffic inspection. When flooded by high attacks EPA standard IPS devices become inefficient and overloaded – either dropping the legitimate user traffic, or fall in full bypass mode – leaving the network vulnerable.

As part of the strategy Radware ® APSolute Immunity security, focused on the fight against emerging threats addressed to network bandwidth and server resources and application, DefensePro 5.0 provides an advanced way to protect against vulnerabilities in network. It leverages a booster shot ‘single DefensePro uses a hardware acceleration engine dedicated DDoS mitigation offering up to 10 million PPS. This goes beyond the current capabilities to process and inspect several Gbps of legitimate traffic, preventing further attacks and intrusions of lower volume without network latency. With its leading architecture, DefensePro 5.0 is an ideal solution for network security for electronic commerce and data center applications, delivering up to 12Gbps of full network traffic inspection and protection against server-based attacks and intrusions server.

“Traditional IPS offerings have a blind spot. Sometimes you can not mitigate a relatively simple attack where a flood of malware website caused the servers to overload due to the influx of traffic,” said Charles Kolodgy, research director IDC’s Security Products service. “Radware DefensePro 5.0 eliminates the blind spot, adding a DoS (Denial of Service) accelerator hardware engine reliever. This is an interesting approach Radware, further strengthening its position and market reach of network security .

The securities business to be achieved by the new version of DefensePro include:

• Business Continuity – DefensePro 5.0 goes beyond traditional network devices IPS to maintain excellent response time of legitimate users, even when under attack, by blocking high-volume attacks EPA could compromise network resources and security.
• Reduced capital expenditure – With DefensePro 5.0, organizations gain the benefit of the two solutions (IPS and DoS mitigation) in a box, thus reducing overall costs associated with implementing security solutions for network and reduce capital expenditures that companies can save on the need for additional network and security equipment to process the unwanted traffic. It also offers a pay-as-you-grow under license demand, DefensePro 5.0 provides investment protection, allowing businesses to scale the network and security capabilities based on business needs.
• Reduced OPEX – DefensePro 5.0 provides automatic real-time signatures, enabling organizations to save on redundant operating expenses, including rental of content distribution networks (CDN), when under attack. Plus, with its enhanced architecture, DefensePro 5.0 enables companies to reduce the voltage of the capacity and have better control over network security and management of resources – because it blocks high-volume attacks that traditionally excessive use of CPU resources that could reduce an organization’s network.

“With communication and more business transactions go online, organizations must seek protection from Web-based assets against security threats that can significantly reduce productivity or paralyze the network. Even with a standard IPS deployed, many organizations are not equipped to inspect the full range of traffic needed to keep hackers at bay today, “said Avi Chesla, Vice President of Security Products, Radware.

“DefensePro 5.0 was designed to overcome these hackers know, but customers may not. As DefensePro 5.0 offers two solutions that are needed in one – IPS and DoS mitigation – customers can analyze both the legitimate traffic , and abnormalities in less than a second, and immediately implement the mechanism of protection of rights without compromising the user experience or resistance of the network. ”

DefensePro 5.0 is available on the OnDemand Switch 3s1 and 3S2 for the X412 models, ranging from 4 Gbps to 12Gbps. The DefensePro network security solutions are part of the company’s business-Smart Data Center strategy, based on an approach to offering a suite of innovative capabilities inclusive of “pay-as-you-grow model and a series of acquisition convincing “in demand platforms’.
