SAS 70 Type II Audit Enhances Internap’s Premium Data Center Offering

Internap Network Services Corporation (NASDAQ: INAP), a global provider of end to end Internet business solutions, today announced it has successfully completed the Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) Type II audit for your company controlled data centers. This activity is part of an ongoing commitment by Internap to provide advanced services for professionals interested in the facilities that have demonstrated ability against the highest standards of service delivery. The audit included more than 491,500 meters of gross square data Space Center in 50 Inner Belt Road in Somerville, Massachusetts, and 111 8th Avenue in New York, and six additional facilities in Atlanta, Houston and Seattle.

The SAS 70 Type II audit confirms that Internap data center security and operational procedures have been reviewed and verified by an independent firm of certified public accountants to validate that the controls and processes are properly designed and operating effectively to protect and safeguard the Customer equipment and data. Internap chose to conduct more stringent auditing of type II, and confirms that only authorized employees and Internap customers have access to the data center, redundant HVAC and UPS systems reduce the likelihood of mechanical and electrical failures will result in a power outage, and all critical facility systems – smoke detection, cooling and power – are inspected and serviced regularly and continuous monitoring to ensure its effective operation.

Internap SAS 70 Type II audit is the culmination of much time, energy and resources of the company has invested in expanding its market presence in Boston and New York last year. In February 2009, opened 50 Inner Belt Internap, of 45,000 gross square feet, state of the art facilities. In April 2009, Internap completed expansion and upgrade of its 76,000 gross square Foot Data Center at 111 8th Avenue. Both were “green building” with new projects and more energy efficient industry central data systems.

Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, SAS 70 is a widely recognized auditing standard. It allows auditors to third party services fairly and objectively assess the operational effectiveness of internal controls relevant to a service organization as Internap.
