Savvis Expands Chicago Data Center
Response to growing customer demand in electronic transactions and access to markets of financial services and Internet infrastructure, Savvis, Inc. (NASDAQ: SVVS) today announced it is expanding one of its two data centers Home Chicago.
To serve new and existing customers, Savvis will add approximately 10,000 square feet of raised floor space to its plant at Cermak Road, in downtown Chicago. The data center then offer 200 watts of power per square meter.
The expansion serves the growing demand for financial clients interested in hosting business applications in the vicinity of the major derivatives markets via Savvis. Customers can also connect to the ease with world-class Ethernet services using SAVVIS Exchange Express service.
Installation of Chicago expanded SAVVIS will cover approximately 30,000 square feet of raised floor and provide access to key performance areas such as the CME Group, among others. It will also serve as one of the world distribution points for the solution of Thomson Reuters, Hosting, which will initially be offered in six Savvis data center (announced on 5 October 2009).
The expanded facility offers a full portfolio of technology-agnostic managed hosting and network services, including placement, virtualized utility services and managed security services, as well as proximity of accommodation. Customers may also take advantage of SAVVIS ‘Application Transport Network (ATN), allowing for optimum network performance, scalability and delivery.
