Terremark Names Security Veteran

The telecommunications provider Terremark Worldwide (www.terremark.com) announced Monday it has chosen Melissa Hathaway to its board.

Hathaway has over 20 years of high level public and private sector experience and is considered one of the leading experts in cybersecurity.

Hathaway is president of Global Strategies Hathaway, and a senior adviser at Harvard’s Kennedy School Belfer Center.

She has served in two presidential administrations, including leading the development of the policy review of cyberspace in his role as acting director of cyberspace in the National Security Council under President Barack Obama.

Before that, Hathaway served as Executive Coordination of cyberspace, and director of Cyber Joint Interagency Working Group, Office of the Director of National Intelligence under President George W. Bush.

Before working in the administrations of Bush and Obama, Hathaway was a director of Booz Allen & Hamilton, where he led the information operations and long-term strategy and support for trade policy units.

In his role at Booz Allen, Hathaway key support to the offices of the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community, including the U.S. Southern Command, the U.S. Pacific Command, the Office of the Secretary of Defense for the Evaluation of the Network, the Central Intelligence Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.
