The Planet to Host Texas IPv6 Task Force Conference
Since the adoption of next-generation protocol, Internet Protocol version 6, it becomes critical to the future of Internet hosting provider on the planet (www.theplanet.com) will host Texas IPv6 Task Force (www.txv6tf. org), which will be held November 3 and 4 in downtown Houston.
According to the announcement of the Planet Tuesday, more than 100 participants are expected for the free two day event. Gold Sponsors include the American Registry for Internet Numbers (www.arin.net), Global Crossing (www.globalcrossing.com) and NTT America (www.nttamerica.com).
A 128-bit IPv6 address space is much larger than the current standard, IPv4, which is facing the threat of depletion of addresses, due to its small size. Since the current Internet protocol, IPv4, address space is exhausted, IPv6 needs to grow much faster than growth of 2.4 to 4 percent last year to cope with the growing number of devices online. A number of industry organizations have been trying to draw attention to this issue recently.
Dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of Internet protocol IPv6 in the states of Texas and around the Texas IPv6 Task Force (or TXv6TF) is a chapter of the IPv6 Forum (www.ipv6forum.com), a global consortium whose mission is to advocate IPv6 by improving technology, market, and user and industry awareness of IPv6 deployment. Comprised of individual members rather than corporate sponsors, TXv6TF mission is to provide technical leadership and innovative thinking to the successful integration of IPv6 into all facets of networking and telecommunications infrastructure.
With the transition to IPv6 has already begun, TXv6TF event provides a forum for participants to learn about emerging technology trends that are preparing their systems to IPv6, which will transform communications in the next 20 years, according to the planet.
“With the ubiquitous nature of the Internet and the increasing demands from all corners of the world, there is a reasonable concern among companies about their ability to access IP addresses to support its growing business,” Planet Network Operations Vice President and CEO Stan TXv6TF Barber, said in a statement. Arena “The transition to the new protocol is inevitable, so that people in IT are faced with the imminent challenge of how best to help enterprises increase their adoption plans. Long-term sustainability clearly promotes the work of this group work, and the event is designed to arm members and participants with the trends of the industry leaders.
Barber will speak at the event and the IPv6 Forum Latif Ladid, “said Stephen ad hoc networks” author Charlie E. Perkins, Mike Global Crossing Benjamin, Cody Christman NTT America’s, 64′s and secure Lagerholm.
Companies and individuals in Texas, neighboring states and around the world are invited to participate. The website that records of individuals staying in the IT infrastructure of The Planet, and is available over IPv6 and IPv4.
Discussions on the implementation of IPv6 have occurred worldwide. For example, five of last week met RIPE ISPs day of the meeting, network operators and other stakeholders from Europe and surrounding regions in Lisbon, Portugal, to discuss many topics, including IPv6.
