Toyota to recall sedans
Electronic controls on the driver’s side window may short-circuit because an OTT quantity of lubricator was applied in the producing process, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine recounted in an announcement on its Web site.
In rare examples, the failing may lead to the inside door panel to melt. The faulty parts originated from one provider, the quality supervisor announced. The recall includes 384,736 Camry models manufactured by Guangzhou Toyota in south China between May 15, 2006 and Dec 31, 2008, China’s quality watchdog asserted on its website. A total of 22,767 Yaris compact cars manufactured by the same venture between May 15 and Dec 31, 2009 will be recalled. The list also includes 35,523 Vios vehicles made at FAW Toyota between February 18 and Dec twenty-five, 2008 and 245,288 Corolla models made at the venture from May 17, 2007 to Dec twenty-five, 2008, the statement asserted.
A speaker for Toyota’s China operations claimed he had got no reports of casualties or accidents linked with the defect.
