Verio Names Hideyuki Yamasawa as New CEO
Verio Inc., the leading provider of online business solutions for SMEs worldwide, including web hosting companies, hosting of applications and software as a service (SaaS), announced today the appointment of Hideyuki Yamasawa as company president and chief executive officer (CEO) and member of the Board of Directors. Yamasawa will succeed Mr. Kiyoshi Maeda, who was named president and CEO in 2005. Under the successful leadership of Mr. Maeda, the company increased its annual revenues, expanding its global presence and partnerships with national companies worldwide.
Mr. Yamasawa is Verio NTT Communications Corporation (NTTCom), which has a long tenure in the company and was one of the founding members to help establish the organization in 1999. As a key founding executive who was largely responsible for establishing strategic direction and vision of the company, many of which remains the infrastructure for those operating today.
More recently, Mr. Yamasawa was Chief of General Affairs Department of NTT Communications, where he was responsible for multiple facets of the business. In this role, he led the company’s global strategic planning and operations and established the strategy of the organization to ensure efficiency, quality, service and cost-effective management of all business initiatives. Under his leadership, these efforts led to the revitalization of business processes and efficiency of NTTCom and its subsidiaries.
Before his appointment as Chief of General Affairs Department, Mr. Yamasawa he served as Deputy General Director of NTT Europe, where he was responsible for overall business operations of the company. Under his leadership, he established the presence of NTT Com in the European market and brought the company significant growth and successful development continues today. As an employee of NTT more than twenty years, has also held positions in the following areas: Planning and Development, Public Relations, Sales and Corporate Services. Mr. Yamasawa contributions have resulted in the establishment of new business for NTTCom growth and helped position the company as an industry leader worldwide.
In his new role as president and CEO, Mr. Yamasawa be responsible for the strategic direction of Verio and leadership of the company in achieving the annual goals, the largest global market opportunities, leading new product initiatives and positioning the company for continued success in general. The company will focus exclusively on the small business market and will continue working through its global network of OEM and channel partners viaVerio. Mr. Yamasawa will oversee all business operations for both Verio and Verio Europe.
