Verizon and VMware to Launch Enterprise-Class Hybrid Cloud Solution
At VMworld 2010, on Tuesday (August 31), Verizon Business and VMware introduced a new hybrid solution enterprise-class tag that allow companies to move their applications to the cloud faster without compromising safety or performance. The new solution, supported by world class global IP network, Verizon and the industry-leading VMware virtualization platform vSphere ™ will help eliminate the major barriers to the adoption of cloud computing, while enabling the delivery of “IT as a service. ”
Verizon’s new offering joins Computing as a Service (CaaS) of the portfolio of cloud computing.
Earlier this month, Verizon began field trials of this new service – The Computer as a Service (CaaS) vCloud VMware-enabled Data Center ™ – that allows companies to decide which applications to move to the cloud to can react more quickly to changing business conditions. The hybrid environment tag Verizon and VMware will help companies leverage the power of scalability and cost of public cloud and only pay for IT resources consumed (servers, connectivity, storage), while delivering the levels safety, performance and control available in the private cloud environments.
