Submitted by on 11 August, 2020 – 4:32 am

According to its Mon. statement, Clerity’s UniKix mainframe re-hosting software suite, which gives a mission-critical environment for employing online and batch mainframe workloads on open systems, is in the competition for the information center modernization award to be given at the Intel Developer Forum 2009 in San Francisco, which is taking place Sep twenty-two to twenty-four.

By adding support for Itanium-based systems in UniKix 11.0, Clerity expounded it can offer direct and independent software seller clients larger choice and very high trustworthiness, availability and serviceability levels on open systems. “For our 2nd yearly Creativity Awards, we received a big number of extraordinarily forcing entries from across the world, showcasing a wide selection of inventive applications backed by Itanium-based technology,” Itanium Solutions coalition president and executive director Joan Jacobs recounted in a press release. “We are happy to recognize this year’s finalists for their revolutionary work with Itanium-based systems from across the range of industry and research.

The Itanium Solutions Alliance Innovation Awards were engineered to recognize and reward end users and developers for superb use of Intel Itanium-based servers in their applications.

A panel of distinguished judges evaluated submissions on a number of criteria like difficulty of challenge, results produced, and originality of the solution.  Apart from Clerity, finalists in the data center modernization class include Bernalillo County, Enagas, and the Brazilian Navy.

Central New Mexico’s Bernalillo County upgraded its server and storage infrastructure to operate more effectively and supply further services to county residents using an Itanium-rich solution to boost application trustworthiness, increase performance across multiple platforms, consolidate servers and make allowance for expedited new server deployment. Ultimately , the Brazilian Navy migrated all mainframe-based database environments, including 3 enormous, complicated, mission-critical systems : payroll, HR, and accounting systems, to an open, Linux-based system and adopted a distributed platform with Itanium processors, reducing operating costs by about eighty p.c and noticeably improving resource management.

The Winner is scheduled to be announced at a special event Sep twenty-three at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. The Information Center Modernization class illuminates the success of projects in which an organization has migrated from a mainframe-based infrastructure to an open design framework to use the trustworthiness, availability and serviceability of Itanium-based systems.
