Inside Verio’s Advanced Business Hosting
This new category of web hosting is the result of the market investigation headed by sales and marketing vice president Steve Renda, who made some interesting looking Verio and its customers. Breaking the current use of the products of Verio, Renda said, “Three quarters of our reseller channel income was not to our web hosting shared services but our virtual private services to be nominated again to serve web hosting.”
Renda said Verio identified seven different use cases, and noted that the accommodation needs of businesses being run from a simple website of the card you just show the direction of the company and contact information for enterprise-class applications that present highly customized sites with deep integration and possibly some kind of proprietary technology.
“Companies may begin simple enough, but then move forward through the growing needs,” he said. “Two things seemed to drive that – one was that the business was growing and succeeding – and every small business owner who wants – and the second was that as you become familiar with using web services and an online presence, became gradually more used to want to do more. [They] realized the ability to do more – things like electronic commerce, as more dynamic content and advanced applications – as they moved up the stack. ”
Knowing what the end users were searching web hosting, the logical – but difficult – The challenge was to make an offer that provides a framework shared accommodation type offered guaranteed resources, special containers, security and resources offered by the solutions of VPS.
Verio senior product manager Mark Fleming helped make these market realities in an offer that can handle all these demands. Using Verio VPS technology, Fleming led to the creation of an offer with guaranteed resources that can be scaled to meet the specific needs of Enterprise ‘with three special containers for the website, email and database hosting.
“We can adjust the memory and CPU,” he said. “Someone can scale and grow only when they need it, more like a cloud, like the environment.” It also features hardened application security, secure email, security monitoring and automatic patches and updates, providing customers with more security than a traditional shared hosting plan.
Containerization of private resources also makes the most reliable service for the separation of each site from other sites on the server, so that those affected by traffic from other websites, email, or a demand for corrupt databases.
Renda says Advanced Business Hosting comes just before a “cloud” services, as it offers no automatic scaling. He says it is the next logical step, but also that the controls in place that is easier for users to provision additional resources as needed.
Verio offers three unique flavors of Advanced Business Hosting, which are available through distribution channel for the company, attached to the user price suggested by Verio.
