TelecityGroup to Open Manchester Data Center, Expand Docklands Facility
In response to growing customer demand in the United Kingdom, Europe TelecityGroup provider data centers (www.telecitygroup.com) is planning to build a new data center 3.5 megawatts in Manchester, and add 3 MW capacity of clients in highly related facilities Docklands district of London.
According TelecityGroup will be adding a total of 6.5MW capacity of clients in London to help their customers in this limited market.
TelecityGroup has five data centers located in London’s Docklands, all very close to each other, which provide rich connectivity with direct access to a wide variety of network providers.
The latest expansion will be in Puerto TelecityGroup Exchange in the Docklands, which will add 3 MW of capacity to customers. Located in one of the universities of Central Europe in the demand for data, additional capacity is scheduled to come online in Q4 2011.
The company also recently expanded its facilities sovereignty House to provide an additional 1,000 square meters of space for data center 2kW/rack.
Following its recent acquisition £ 21.1 million ($ 33.7 million) of Internet Facilitators Limited (www.ifl.co.uk) in Manchester, TelecityGroup has also announced a new data center in the city 3.5MW, which is scheduled to open in Q3 2011. The company said the facility will help meet the latent demand for high capacity online in the north of England.
“We are pleased to announce the expansion in the Harbour Exchange, one of our sites in demand in the Docklands area and the new facility in Manchester,” TelecityGroup UK and Ireland general manager Adriaan Oosthoek said a statement. “They complement the expansion of 21MW PowerGate announced in April this year as we continue to invest in our portfolio of data centers in the United Kingdom.”
