The Planet Reports Fourth Quarter Results
The planet, the global leader in IT hosting, today discussed its results for the quarter ended December 31, 2009. The President and CEO of The Planet Douglas J. Erwin official was quoted as saying that the company, “the fourth quarter and ended the year with increased revenue and EBITDA more than 30%, despite the harsh economic conditions.” Mr. Erwin went on to say that “during the quarter, we reorganized our sales and support organizations to better serve our various customer segments, and we have declared 2010 the Year of the customer experience. In this regard, recently announced some new offers and lowered the prices of our line of servers and various bandwidth. We also have started training several customer service programs in an effort to provide the best customer experience in the industry.
“To deliver across the board, operational excellence is critical. While our customer satisfaction rankings remain at record levels of all time, we will continue to make changes to improve our performance and deliver the products and services our customers need for their business. ”
“We had another record year of earnings and a solid quarter,” said Chief Financial Officer Kevin Klausmeyer. “Deal sizes are increasing, and the business of managed hosting is gaining more traction. Our cash flow remains very strong, which has resulted in a powerful balance sheet, our net debt at its lowest level in the last three years. In 2010, we plan to make significant investments in our customer facing systems, our network, we offer our Virtual Dedicated Server and data center infrastructure. ”
Fourth Quarter Highlights

New Storage Area Network: The company announced the availability of the Dell PowerVault MD3000i, a network of area high-performance storage (SAN) disk array. Nehalem Servers: The Xeon 3450, based on Dell PowerEdge R210 platform and loaded with the next generation of Intel’s Nehalem microarchitecture, became the third and most powerful server in the fleet of the company.
Microsoft OS Added to portfolio: The company added the Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 to its product line, making it available to all dedicated hosting customers.
Microsoft WebsiteSpark Members: Support for SMB customers, the company joined the Microsoft WebsiteSpark program, which offers small business web development and design with free licenses from Microsoft for the latest versions of Windows Server and SQL Server, key tools for the construction and design of Web sites rich.
Texas IPv6 Conference: At its headquarters located in Houston, Planet of host and as Gold Sponsor of the IPv6 Task Force of Texas, which attracted over 100 participants. Also participating as Gold sponsors were: NTT America, Global Crossing and ARIN (American Registry for Internet Numbers).
